What happens during an ENT endoscopy at the clinic?

It is simpler than it sounds, a quick look inside the nose or ear with a slim, illuminated scope, done right in the consulting room. We use a numbing spray if needed, and it takes only a couple of minutes. It often shows the exact problem straight away and can save you an unnecessary scan.

Do you treat children's ENT problems?

Yes, and it is a large part of our work. Recurrent ear infections, enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and the snoring, mouth-breathing child are all common here. Dr. Cherry Roy has a special interest in paediatric ENT, so children are examined gently and treated with the least intervention that works.

Will I need surgery for my sinus or throat problem?

Often not. Most sinus, ear and throat problems settle with the right medication, allergy control and simple in-clinic care. We only discuss surgery when it is genuinely needed, and we explain why clearly. As an outpatient clinic, we arrange any operation with an accredited partner hospital, with a written estimate first.

When is an ENT problem an emergency?

Some ENT problems need urgent care. Call 108 or go to the nearest emergency department for sudden severe difficulty breathing or swallowing, noisy laboured breathing in a child, or a nosebleed that will not stop after 15–20 minutes of firm pressure. Sudden one-sided hearing loss also needs to be seen the same day, as early treatment matters.

Can vertigo be treated, and when is it serious?

Very often it can be helped. The commonest cause, BPPV, comes from tiny displaced crystals in the inner ear and frequently settles with a repositioning manoeuvre done in the clinic; other types respond to medication and balance exercises. But sudden severe dizziness with slurred speech, facial droop, double vision, weakness or a bad headache can signal a stroke, call 108 immediately.
